Bone Marrow Awareness Month
November is National Marrow Awareness Month, a time to celebrate the doctors, researchers, and donors helping to fight against marrow-destroying diseases and support the patients fighting them. Bone marrow is the soft, fatty tissue inside your bones that produces blood cells. When that blood-production system is attacked by leukemia, lymphoma, sickle cell disease, or anemia, patients sometimes need bone marrow transplants from a matched donor to reach remission and, after five years, a cure. During initial treatment for their disease and preparation for their transplants, those patients require at least dozens of blood and platelet transfusions, making donors of those products instrumental to their transplants’ success.

Veteran’s Day
It’s our civic duty to have a ready blood supply to always support those in need of transfusions. Veterans are some of our most dedicated blood donors in this country. We appreciate both their service and commitment. This Veteran’s Day, let’s ensure all patients have access to blood and raise awareness of the ongoing need for donations. We invite veterans, active members, friends, and family to give blood in honor of those who risk their lives.

Thanksgiving
Let's be thankful for life this Thanksgiving and give back by donating blood. Holidays can strain blood supplies, but your donations help support local doctors and first responders, aiding those in medical emergencies, cancer treatments, or surgeries. Thank you to all the donors who unite to make this season one of giving and gratitude.
